Great place to go hiking
Greay place to walk and see the trees! Good trail too
I've volunteered here as part of the Conservation Stewardship Project. We go plant trees and pull invasive plants along the trails. The HoCo staff enjoy what they do and are knowledgable. Many other volunteers tend to be naturalists also.
Excellent place for the kids to explore nature. Lots of kid-friendly displays and activities, including a salt water touch tank. The surrounding trails are beautiful and not too long for little legs, plus the historic ruins of a mill make for an interesting outing.
Gorgeous area. I have explored quite a bit here in all the different seasons and it is always a fun adventure. The river is impressive and there is a wide variety of wildlife you can come across. I have seen several pilliated woodpeckers here, along with other interesting birds. Highly recommend exploring any part of this reserve for birdwatching, exercise, or with kids.
