Really like this place. Aside from a good run, one can stop and admire the Graue Mill & Museum. Place takes you back.
So nice at any time of year, but especially in autumn. A nice, nearby escape to nature with paved trails that are not too busy.
A very nice historical site, the mill and it's story are very interesting and the explanations for how it works are great. I had a great time here and would come back again.
This is a such a beautiful little museum and park. Wonderful for anything from wedding photos to a nice picnic.
Graue Mill is a preserved Mill & small museum on Salt Creek with walking & biking paths and multiple picnic shelters & BBQ facilities. The museum is especially good for kids, with displays of local animals, a coloring table with forest preserve type pictures, animal prints, etc. The walking trails are pretty wide, well-maintained & mapped. Paper maps are available at the museum. There are several bridges that cross the Creek & one trail extends to both sides for good views of the Creek, a small dam, & a range of wildlife. There is ample parking that may not be obvious at first glance: a small space just off Spring Road, a good-sized lot farther north on Spring that is near the museum & bathroom facilities. There is a larger lot across York Road with a traffic light at the South end & an underpass at the North end of that lot, for getting across York Road & into the park itself. It's a great place for a walk, run or ride, or birding, wildlife sighting, & listening to the water as it flows across the dam. Please don't feed the ducks/geese!
