  St. Columban School is unpretentious, faith filled and community centered. The school boasts an academically rigorous program that includes a one-to-one iPad program beginning in the 3rd grade, “Maker Space” at lunch in which students learn to program robots or engineer their own trebuchet and every grade level is exposed to foreign language. As desirable as this may be, one can find the same programs at other schools. What sets St. Columban apart is the culture of the school. At St. Columban the idea of “bullying” is unheard of. The teachers create an atmosphere in which the students are encouraged to grow not only intellectually, but as individual sons and daughters of God. Due to the small class sizes, everyone in the school knows everyone else. Students aren’t “third graders” or “TK”—they are simply “Colts”—members of the same family. As a parent of a student diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, this has been key to daughter’s success. In any other school she would be “different,” a possible target, but at St. Columban she’s just Jane. At St. Columban she’s free to be the person God made her and what’s more, she’s is admired for it. Any school can educate the mind, St. Columban is a school that forms good people.

  The principal is very kind and a good leader. The school is well-kept and the staff seem to really love the kids. :-]

  The school staff seem very caring. They encourage parents to speak up if there is a problem with anything. I have spoken up and changes were immediately made. I have been allowed to sit and observe an after school class my child was to participate in with no problem. I feel my child is very safe when I leave her here during school hours. This is my daughters first year coming here. I also like that her teacher gives plenty of homework and encourages her students to study. Not sure if my child will be attending this school next year, I will have to see how the rest of school year goes. Also unsure why the school has a high turnover rate for their teachers which is concerning to me.
