Santa Ynez Canyon Trailhead

Great trailhead for a quick, effective workout. Steep climb and keeps climbing till the top. From there you can continue on as long as your legs can get you, do a nice loop, or head back on down to the entrance.

7 miles round trip to Eagle Rock via Santa Ynez Trail. Lots of poision oak and ticks. Be prepared and wear layers to protect yourself. Creek is seasonal as well as Santa Ynez waterfall.

Nice trail if you're OK with a little clambering on rocks. The waterfall is more of a trickle unless it's rained recently but it's still nice and mossy and there's a rope beside it where you can climb up to more hike above if you're up for little climbing

I came up from San Diego to visit my sis and we went on this hope, first time for both of us. Easy trail, dirt and rock, very little incline. It was April when we went to everything was pretty green and lush and the weather was perfect. We hiked up to the waterfall and saw loads of salamanders in the pools, very cool. We hiked up a little further above the falls to get some awesome views of the valley. Great easy hike or stroll.

The trail to the so called waterfall is easy and shady. Do not expect to be wowed by a waterfall though. It is a five to six feet fall which is basically a trickle. We went after it rain the night before and there was some water, but probably only for couple of days the most. The trail, however, is enjoyable.
