  This is one of my favorite spots to get away too. It's slightly back country. A little off the beaten path. Farms along the way. Waterfront is lovely. There's a small boat launch. I've driven, biked, run, rucked, motorcycled to this spot many times chasing peace and sunsets. I only wish the structure was open sometimes. I'd like to see inside.

  Beautiful historic site with an informative andinteresting museum. If you have the chance to participate in one of their public archaeology days I would highly recommend it.

  Was forced by a storm to camp near the dock on a kayak camping trip back in June. Legitimately woken in the middle of the night by boot-steps walking down the dock. No one was around when got out of our tent. It was 10:30 at night and no cars or people were around. We suspect a ghost but are not certain of the history of the place. Scared us pretty good but worth it for the story.

  A quiet and peaceful park on the Patuxtent River. Colonial-era house once owned by the Calverts. The first floor can be toured. Interpretive and historical displays. Has a bathroom. Wide open spaces, and river view - has a boat dock, so you can boat in.
  Large mature trees. Parking "off-road" but shady. Open dawn to dusk.
